on AIR Bus Tour Website design and process
June 18th, 2007 by Mike ChambersWe just posted a video with Lee Brimelow, Rob Stokes and Nick De La Mare from frog design who worked on the onair.adobe.com tour website with Adobe.
The actual tour project has a number of facets, including the website, wrap design for the bus, stickers, tshirts, signs, etc… all of which are tied together visually. The video and this post focus on the process around creating the website (we will more posts on other facets of the project, such as the bus design, in future videos and blog posts).
Creating the tour website, involved a number of steps:
Discover
This phase was when we initially came to frog design with the project, explained the vision for the tour, and what we were trying to accomplish. Basically, make sure frog design understood what we were doing and why.
Definition
Once frog design felt they understood the project, we began to define the scope and needs of the project. This includes early wireframes of the website (not visual designs) to define to scope and functionality of the website.
Design Exploration
This was when we began to explore different design directions, with the goal of settling on a final design for the website. As you can see from the comp belows, we looked at a number of early directions, and ultimately took elements from a number of them for the final design.
Design and Architecture Refinement
Once the initial scope and design of the site was decided above, we began iterating on both the design, and the architecture of the site.
Development
This was the very last phase, and involved the actual development, testing and deployment of the website.
In addition to the images above, I have uploaded additional images which you can view in this image set.

I like pointing out typos. It’s fun.
When you linked frog design, you put the url as http://frogddesign.com , with 2 d’s. The correct site is http://frogdesign.com .
Good catch. It should be fixed now.

E’ veramente incredibile le cose che Adobe sta facendo per portare il verbo di Apollo nella comunità degli sviluppatori.
