Bus Tour Code Repository is open
June 25th, 2007 by Mike ChambersWe have just opened up the on AIR Bus Tour code repository over at Google code. This contains all of the applications and code created for, and during the bus tour.
Right now, there are three main sub-projects in the repository:
- AIRSnapshot Application AIR application that takes a picture from the webcam, geoencodes it and uploads to Flickr.
- AIRTracker Application AIR application which takes geo-coordinates, maps then, and uploads them to a server API
- Common Library Library of common ActionScript code used by applications in the repository.
The AIRTracker and AIRSnapshot applications will be on the bus, and used to automate the geo tracking, and image uploading.
We work off of this repository now, and will be adding new applications as we build them (both during and before the tour).
Check out the individual project pages. They have information on how to use the applications, and highlight some of the AIR techniques used within the application.
You can view the code repository here.

What GPS device are you using for this?
We are using the Garmin GPS 18.

However, using gpsbabel, you should be able to use just about any GPS device.
