Song Play List for Leg 1 of Bus Tour

Tuesday, July 24th, 2007 by Mike Chambers

We just finished up the first leg of the bus tour which was a huge success. We will be posting a more in-depth recap as soon as we take a couple of days to recuperate.

In the meantime, we received a number of requests to post the play list of the music played during the breaks at the AIR Camp events.

So here it is:

Couple of Denver Agenda Changes

Friday, July 20th, 2007 by Mike Chambers

We are in Denver today for AIR Camp (last stop on the first leg of the tour). The morning sessions have gone well, with Ryan Stewart giving the keynote, and Mike Chambers and Kevin Hoyt showing how to get started with building AIR applications.

We have a couple of last minute changes to the agenda. First, we have added a session for Yahoo (one of the tour partners), who will be showing off some AIR application prototypes that they have been working on.

Second, the night session has been shorted and will end around 7:15 to 7:30. We have been finding that everyone has been hanging around from the day session, and a 12 1/2 hour conference day (as we had in LA) is just too much for everyone. We will be making a similar tweak to the rest of the stops on legs 2 and 3.

You can view the updated Denver agenda here.

The on AIR Bus Tour Chat Application

Wednesday, July 18th, 2007 by Ryan Stewart

Ever since the first part of the trip we wanted to give you guys a way to chat with us on the bus. Ted Patrick cooked up an AIR application that does just that and lets you view the video at the same time. The chat seems to be pretty popular so far, so download it and check it out!

on AIR Tour on your iPhone

Wednesday, July 18th, 2007 by Mike Chambers

Mike Downey and I have put together a web app for the iPhone to make it easy to keep up with the latest news, images and tweets from the tour.

This uses the iui framework which was surprisingly easy to work with.

You can view the app in your browser, or on your iPhone at:

The 12 Hour Marathon

Wednesday, July 18th, 2007 by Ryan Stewart

Huge thanks to everyone who attended the Los Angeles event. It was the largest so far by attendance and it lasted over 12 hours with a lot of people still sticking around until the very end while the mini presentations were going on. This venue was probably my least favorite out of all of them, but we did have an entire auditorium to ourselves, so I think for the people watching it must have been more comfortable.

The food in Los Angeles was also really good. They had a ton of stuff for us to eat throughout the whole day. It consisted of things like poppers, pretzels, a nacho cheese machine that you could use to create nachos, grilled items for lunch and a spread of fruit, cookies and other thing from throughout the day. It wasn’t all good for us, but it tasted great. This is why we’re doing a weight loss competition on the next leg. Thanks to all that attended. Below are some blog-thoughts on the event.

TwitterAIRCamp Released

Monday, July 16th, 2007 by Mike Chambers

We have just released a version of Danny Dura’s Twitter Camp application for the bus tour. Renamed to TwitterAIRCamp, this has been modified specifically for use on the tour.

;TwitterAIRCamp_screen.png"

The app displays the latest twitter posts / tweats sent to the onAIRBusTour Twitter account, and also shows the last post from the tour’s account.

You can download the AIR file from the tour’s Google Code Repository (requires Adobe AIR Beta).

Thanks to mediatemple

One of our partners on the tour is mediatemple. They are providing the hosting for the website, weblogs, APIs and feeds, and have been a huge help in watching and maintaining the server.

However, not only are they helping us out on the site, but they also surprised us with some parting gifts on the bus, including these swank slippers being modeled by the bus’s own Andre Charland.
