Live Video Bus Feed Test now
July 3rd, 2007 by Mike ChambersWe are on the bus right now doing tests for all of the apps. This includes the geo tracking app, Flickr app, and live video stream.
You can watch the test, and help us find bugs / problems. Here are the links.
Report any issues in the comments.
Update : Test is over.

seems to be low-res *and* dithered
no audio?
wow – the image is doing a weird shimmy-shake-bounce
*almost* motion-sickness inducing :)
Yeah. We are going to be playing around with different resolutions, and will be testing the audio.
We have to keep the bitrate low though for when we are in low connectivity areas.

Will there be a chat box to interact with the bus (a la UStream)?
heck, irc channel?
Looks good on Vista with IE7, Firefox and Safari. Running on a Lenovo t60p.

Looks like a nice bus I am jealous!
Bear, that’s a good idea. We’re looking into setting up a chat.
OS X Safari and FireFox – viewing just fine
Ubuntu w/Firefox – app seems to start but no video or sound
Ryan, let me know if you need any irc guru-ness. I can point you to some very friendly and experianced irc network ops
image quality is much improved and not dithered/pixellated looking
still kinda shaky-squirmy
audio is clippy and just a touch distorted
nice case :)
ohh! silly bear!
it’s shaky because you guys are on a moving bus!
duh
sent my comments on twitter. But you really rock guys ! :-)
Pictures – not a lot of frames dropped
Sound – not always easy to understand (moreover for a french guy) :-)
Live vid feed timing out down here in Oz :(
