Bus Tour Live Video is up

July 9th, 2007 by Mike Chambers

We just left San Francisco on our way to Seattle for the first AIR Camp (tomorrow). Ill make another post about some of the updates to the website, but in the meantime, I wanted to make a quick post and let everyone know that the live video feed from the bus is online now.

View Live Video Feed from Bus

It will be up any time we are on the bus, although it may go down from time to time if we loose the data connection. If the connection does go down, then you can view a slide show of images automatically taken from the bus. We will have audio on at time, but not all of the time.

Leave any comments about the video here.

Hey, maybe have that camera set up with a gyroscope or something… it’s making me a tad car sick.

Is that a Microsoft sticker on the side of the bus?

Bon Voyage, guys .. have a great trip!

Good to see the feed .. although it’s very patchy from here (broadband) .. video gets “stuck” frequently and the audio is just a few words here and there. Dunno if that is fixable or not, but thought you should know.

    Have a great trip!

Nice talking to you Robert…Hope the cellular gods are good to you for the remainder of the trip. I had it all planned out to see you all in the ATL, but I’m attending the 360|Flex conference in Seattle on the same day (along with Ben Forta?), so I have to “miss the bus” so to speak.

    Hey guys,

I have an OnAIR AIR app I built you can download here:

    http://www.airapps.net/?passThrough=AIRAppsMall&appNumber=150

It will help you keep track of the weather at each step along your trip and even keeps track of the speed of the bus.

It’s auto-updating so it will automatically let you update it as I add features to it.

Its either off (or we are going through an area where we cant get internet access).

In this case, it was off, as we turned it off overnight, and the bus didnt wake up until around 10 or 11.

    It is back on now.

Thanks, Mike. Now it appears to connect to the server, but the screen is just black .. no video or audio. Maybe nothing is being broadcast right now, but usually that means it would try to connect and fail. This appears to connect .. then nothing. :(

Hope you all are having a great time!

I just wanted to say a BIG thank you to Adobe for this free conference - and it really was a top-notch conference. I didn’t know exactly what to expect, but you guys obviously put an awful lot into making this a really spectacular event and reached out to the community like I’ve never seen any company do before. I learned much more about AIR than I thought I would, the food, snacks, schwag, venue in Downtown LA, networking was all perfect.

I highly recommend anyone else to check it out if the bus stops in your city too. It’s definitely worth your while. And if it doesn’t stop in your town, just watch it live.
