Bus Tour Live Video is up
July 9th, 2007 by Mike ChambersWe just left San Francisco on our way to Seattle for the first AIR Camp (tomorrow). Ill make another post about some of the updates to the website, but in the meantime, I wanted to make a quick post and let everyone know that the live video feed from the bus is online now.
It will be up any time we are on the bus, although it may go down from time to time if we loose the data connection. If the connection does go down, then you can view a slide show of images automatically taken from the bus. We will have audio on at time, but not all of the time.
Leave any comments about the video here.

Hey, maybe have that camera set up with a gyroscope or something… it’s making me a tad car sick.
Is that a Microsoft sticker on the side of the bus?
Oh, and bon voyage! Has the size of the country set in yet?
Video is sweet though no audio currently. Someone wake up Downey and get him on Guitar Hero…Lee stop primping in the camera, we see your mug enough! :)
according to my calculations, you guys are going approximately 84 MPH
AUDIO!!! Sweet. Audio makes it so much better.
The wireless in the bus is slow, so it’s hard to get an idea if it’s all working.
You can call us at 425-205-1921.
Bon Voyage, guys .. have a great trip!
Good to see the feed .. although it’s very patchy from here (broadband) .. video gets “stuck” frequently and the audio is just a few words here and there. Dunno if that is fixable or not, but thought you should know.
Have a great trip!
got a twitter update - but the video timed out for me.
Video looks decent. Now I just need to find out why I’m interested in this. ;) Have a good ride guys. — Mike
Nice talking to you Robert for the first time!
Thanks for telling me to post a comment here about: my company SpyderHost.net is seeking a charity or community organization that needs help with fundraising, media coverage, or volunteer recruitment.

Thanks Robert and all.
P.S. I downloaded the Adobe AIR and gave the link to our programmer. I signed up for the Chicago AIRbus date in September.
Nice talking to you Robert…Hope the cellular gods are good to you for the remainder of the trip. I had it all planned out to see you all in the ATL, but I’m attending the 360|Flex conference in Seattle on the same day (along with Ben Forta?), so I have to “miss the bus” so to speak.
Hey guys,
I have an OnAIR AIR app I built you can download here:
http://www.airapps.net/?passThrough=AIRAppsMall&appNumber=150
It will help you keep track of the weather at each step along your trip and even keeps track of the speed of the bus.
It’s auto-updating so it will automatically let you update it as I add features to it.
The video is patchy for me too, but it’s kinda weird in a Big Brother kind of way.
Have fun guys, but it does sound like a long trip :P
Hey guys, cant wait to see everyone in August here in Cincinnati. Good to see ya Lee. Video feed is great guys!
I think this is the absolute bestest bunch. Any coincidence you’re kicking off the tour in back parking lot of an evil (as yet un-named) empire?
The one thing you are missing is a live chat to fo with the live feed….
Video is a bit choppy. There is about 2.5 seconds of good video, and then a four or so second pause. Over and over! :)
While you guys are on the road… how about an AIR application that lets us check things out rather than just a web site?
What’s ddura’s favorite Guitar Hero song?
No audio?
I have an early bead on Guitar Hero 80s, the next version. Holy hair bands.
You guys should have stopped by my place before the hotel to try out the wine cellar:

Hey hey - I’ll still bring the twin turbo down for Ted to take a spin.
/d
What about real bands? Don’t real guitar players count for anything any more?

Nice to see you all share a room!
For the halo gamers on the bus…
All the talk at E3:

Just saw you guys at the Rib Eye in Chehalis gassing up the coach.
Have a great trip - love the live GPS and video feed. GME
Its still not working? It just says cannot connect! :(
>Its still not working? It just says cannot connect
Its either off (or we are going through an area where we cant get internet access).
In this case, it was off, as we turned it off overnight, and the bus didnt wake up until around 10 or 11.
It is back on now.

Fun.
Are you guys stopping by sunny San Diego??
audio died on the presentation about 11:20 AM PDT. Until then it was good.

I just restarted the feed, so it should be working now. Sorry about that, and thanks for the heads up.

Thanks, Mike. Now it appears to connect to the server, but the screen is just black .. no video or audio. Maybe nothing is being broadcast right now, but usually that means it would try to connect and fail. This appears to connect .. then nothing. :(
Hope you all are having a great time!
I just wanted to say a BIG thank you to Adobe for this free conference - and it really was a top-notch conference. I didn’t know exactly what to expect, but you guys obviously put an awful lot into making this a really spectacular event and reached out to the community like I’ve never seen any company do before. I learned much more about AIR than I thought I would, the food, snacks, schwag, venue in Downtown LA, networking was all perfect.
I highly recommend anyone else to check it out if the bus stops in your city too. It’s definitely worth your while. And if it doesn’t stop in your town, just watch it live.
I’m totally agree with Philipp I want see more about bus! ;-)
See you soon in Chicago at last bus stop!
Greetings from Italy
I see that Mike Chambers is still using the same t-shirt that he use on LA
