The on AIR Bus Tour Chat Application

July 18th, 2007 by Ryan Stewart

Ever since the first part of the trip we wanted to give you guys a way to chat with us on the bus. Ted Patrick cooked up an AIR application that does just that and lets you view the video at the same time. The chat seems to be pretty popular so far, so download it and check it out!

Great event in Dallas last night! Lee’s presentation was perfect for me. And as I mentioned to him as I was leaving, I just got tagged a DEVINER recently. But clearly, I am still more designer than developer! Soooo glad I stayed to hear that last presentation.

Anyway last night, I was checking out the O’Reilly book — nice swag by the way — and I saw right off a typo on your credits page. “Illustrators: Robert Romano and Jessamyn Read.” Ya gots ta have more letters there. A capital “I” and 2 lowercase “l’s”

Ha! It just leaped off the page at me.

Hope you can revise before next printing. Cheers!

    Hey planche,

We’re on a break between legs right now, so the chat won’t be up until the 14th of this month when we start the east coast leg.

    ok Thanks!

I’m really into to this AIR thing, I think it’s really powerful and I’m starting to study it a little more, I’m a designer and it’s a real fight to code applications for AIR. But I’ll manage. Do you know if their is any book on AIR for flash users?

    Hey planche,

Unfortunately we don’t have a book on AIR for Flash users. We haven’t officially released a Flash extension for AIR, so once that happens I think we’ll start looking into a book. If you have any questions, there is an apollocoders mailing list on Yahoo that might be useful for you.
