Leg 2 Agendas and Speakers Updated
August 1st, 2007 by Mike ChambersWe have just updated the event agendas, and have also posted the list of all of the speakers for the second leg of the bus tour.
Just as with the first leg, we have a pretty impressive list of speakers.
- Christian Cantrell
- Mike Chambers
- Andre Charland
- Mike Downey
- Daniel Dura
- Ben Forta
- Kevin Hoyt
- Chafic Kazoun
- Ed Sullivan
- Ryan Stewart
We also have sessions by effectiveUI, Akamai, Yahoo! Developers Network and Salesforce.com.
Some of the new sessions include ColdFusion Powered AIR Applications (Ben Forta), Introduction to Adobe AIR Flex Components (Chafic Kazoun) and Introduction to the Embedded Database API (Christian Cantrell).
We will be posting a more extensive write up of leg 1, but one of the things we learned was that the all day / night events were too long (over 12 hours!). While we still had a ton of people hanging around at the end of the night, everyone was simply beat. So, for leg two we have shorted the day events to end earlier in order to make it more manageable for speakers and participants.
Here is a list of the cities the bus will be visiting during leg 2:
We are also make a side trip (a 16 hour one) to Raleigh, for a user group meeting / mini AIR Camp on Saturday, August 18th. We will post more info about that shortly.
This leg has some of the largest and smallest venues and events, so it should be an interesting contrast between the larger and smaller cities.
If you haven’t registered yet, make sure to register as soon as possible. It helps us plan for the right amount of people (i.e. make sure we order enough beer), and ensures you wont get locked out if any of the events sell out.
Finally, if you are in one of the cities, help us get the word out by blogging it, or pinging your friends. You can find some graphics for the tour to add to a blog post in the code repository.
Finally #2, we need bumper stickers for the bus, so if you are attending one of the events and happen to have a bumper sticker for the city, make sure to bring it to us. (We already have stickers for Portland, Vancouver, and Texas).

I know that you hit Dallas on the first leg, but on your way back to the West Coast, feel free to stop in Austin, Texas! We’ve got a fine collection of software and interactive media companies… and the Austin City Limits festival’s held September 16-18. :-)

I don’t quite understand the reason why a Cincinnati tour stop is scheduled, where Cinci has NO user groups, and yet there’s no stop in Cleveland, where there are THREE, including an RIA group. I may be biased, but it doesn’t make a lot of sense to me.
