Welcome to video.onflex.org. Over the past couple of months I have been doing more and more informal videos around Flex and Apollo technologies. I have been posting these on google video and linking on my weblog, but in general havent been happy with the quality of video from google video, and didn’t like that there was not one central repository for all of the videos.
After shooting a bunch of sessions at 360Flex last week, Ted Patrick and I finally decided to put together a site to host all of the Flex and Apollo videos and interviews that we have been shooting. That is what this site is.
Here is how it works. When we shoot a new video, we will post it on this site. You can either watch it inline (in page or full screen), or download the FLV. In some cases, we will also provide a High Def MP4 download.
The site has an RSS feed for the content, and also allows for anyone to post comments on the videos. Please do so. If you love a video, let us know. Hate it? Leave a comment. It will help us learn what types of videos everyone wants to see.
Everything on the site is released under a creative commons license, so have some fun with it. Just make sure to let us know if you do something cool with it. If you want to link to a video, then please link the the page and not directly to the video downloads (those will probably be changing soon).
We put the site and player together pretty quickly, and are still working out some of the kinks. In particular, we are really trying to provide higher quality video. Right now, all video is in 16:9 format at 640 x 360. We have spent a lot of time trying to get the file size down, while keeping the quality high, but if you have any problems or have any suggestions, then please let us know.
